Burlington City Arts
Burlington City Arts (BCA) seeks to provide a welcoming opportunity for any community member to participate in or find self-expression through the arts. BCA uses participation numbers as one measure of success in meeting its mission.
BCA's role as an arts organization is to provide a welcoming opportunity for any community member to participate or find self-expression through the arts. Participation numbers provide a way to review impacts of program changes and monitor growth.
For many years we have collected data on total number of participants in programs, which provides a relatively narrow picture of our impact, but is one of the few field standards. Benchmarks are based on an average of 30 art centers and councils with budgets between $1m and $3m nationwide. Targets for FY17 are based on 3% growth over FY16.
Numbers include only events and programs where audience can be accurately counted; therefore events such as free concerts in the park and Festival of Fools are not currently reflected.
